Jesus,Feast of Tabernacle and Prophecy

All of the feasts God gave Moses represents future prophecy.  Three of the feast are ‘High Holy Days’. Three times a year male Israelites had to travel to Jerusalem with a sin offering for their family.

  • Passover
  • Pentecost
  • Feast of Tabernacles also know as Booths, Tents

The Feast of Tabernacles is the last harvest of the year and is called the Fall harvest.

Israel celebrated Tabernacles by going out into the wilderness and living in tents for seven days. Reading scripture and repenting.

In the future when Jesus returns he will raise the saints from their graves, this is the ‘First Resurrection’ These saints will go live with Jesus for 1000 years in heaven. During their time in heaven, Jesus will teach them about his salvation plan.

After the 1000 years are over, the saints in heaven will return to earth. They will camp outside the city and will assist, teach and keep law and order of the unsaved.

All unsaved Gentiles and the whole house of Israel will be raised from death this is called the ‘Second Resurrection’

The ‘Second Resurrection’ will live in homemade shelters, grow their own food and once a year they will go up to the temple to keep the ‘Feast of Tabernacle’ and they will bring a sin offering. (mentioned in the book of Ezekiel)

Back to the past

Jesus acts out future prophecy

The Feast of Tabernacle had arrived and the brothers of Jesus wanted the family to arrive at the feast together

  • Jesus told them ‘this is their time and they must go first’
  • After they left Jesus went to the temple in secret.
  • At the feast Jesus overheard the people discussing if he was the Messiah and should they follow him?
  • Jesus comes out of hiding and preaches

John 7:37-38 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Back to the future

  • The ‘second resurrection’ comes to life
  • They will go up year after year to attend the Feast of Tabernacle
  • They will not see Jesus at this time he is there in spirit
  • Israels blindness is removed and Judah is saved first
  • Gentiles repent
  • Last day, a call for repentance from the temple
  • They are judged by their works
  • Israel prepares for Jubilee and their inheritance is restored

Zechariah 14:16-21 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

God’s salvation plan does not end at Jesus second coming. There are a total of three Harvest.

The first harvest was Jesus (Barley harvest)

The second harvest was after the great tribulation (Wheat harvest)

The third harvest at the end of Feast of Tabernacle (Grape harvest)

Now you can understand why Israel had to present themselves with a sin offering 3 times a year.

Not all Gentiles will be saved. Satan will be set free from his prison at the end of 1000 years to test the people of the second resurrection. Many as the sands of the sea will follow Satan to the second death.
