The Three Harvest

Why are the three High Holy Days so important?

Three times a year Israelites had to go to Jerusalem. This was a commandment, not just a suggestion.

The three High Holy Days also paints a picture of God’s salvation plan.

The three High Holy Days are

1. Passover: happens during the Barley harvest

2. Pentecost: happens during the Wheat harvest

3. Tabernacles: Tents or Booths happens during the Grape harvest

God instructed Moses to teach Isreal Gods plan of redemption through feast and tabernacle services, and it also shows insights to future prophecy.

Passover   1st High Holy Day it is also the  barley harvest that happens in early spring

Moses instructed Israel to kill a lamb and to take the blood to cover the doorway of each home. This protected and saved Israel from death.

Prophecy = Jesus is the lamb. He died on the cross and his blood saves us from the second death.

Passover is the first harvest of the year. Jesus was the first one resurrected from the dead then ascended to heaven making him the first fruits to be presented to God

Pentecost   2nd High Holy day. This is the wheat harvest

The purpose of this feast was to commemorate the completion of the harvest.

Exodus 34; 22″You shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks, that is, the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year.

Prophecy= Mark 4: 29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle because the harvest has come.

The wheat harvest represents the dead in Christ rising from their graves.

Booths the 3rd High Holy Day. This is the grape harvest.

Booths, Tentsrefers to the temporary dwellings that we are commanded to live in during this holiday in memory of the period of Israel wandering in the desert and It is a time to reflect on one’s sins and a need to repent. This feast is also a future prophecy. God’s salvation plan for the whole house of Israel.

Romans 11:25-26 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.  And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove godlessness from Jacob

So, how does God save the unbelievers of Israel? And what about the people born before Jesus, and all the people born who had never heard of Jesus? Do they get a chance at salvation?

Feast of Booths is Gods salvation plan for these people.

When Jesus returns he will open the graves of the saints and take them to heaven for a thousand years to reign and rule with him preparing for the Feast of Booths to come.

At the same time, Satan will be locked up during the 1000 years. When the 1000 years are over, Satan will be set free to roam the earth again in order to tempt and deceive the people raised in the second resurrection.

Revelation 20;3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that, he must be loosed a little while

Jesus is going to raise the sinners from the dead after the 1000 years are over and they will go live in Booths, tents, meaning temporary homes all over the earth. They will build their own homes and plant their own gardens. The Saints will come back to earth to rule, teach, watch over, and assist. During this time the sinners will learn the truth and every knee will bow and confess Jesus is Lord. These people will live by strict guidelines. It will be very difficult for many.

Ezekiel 37;11-14 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

Zechariah14;16-21 And it shall come to pass, that everyone that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that comes not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 2:2-4And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And he shall judge among thenationsand shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Ezekiel44:23-24 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.

Ezekiel36;31-33 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

Just as the grapes must be trodden under foot and pressed severely in order to obtain the wine. These unbelievers must be trodden under foot.

Jesus talked about these people in Luke 12;47-48

And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

The first group knew about Jesus. The second group of people didn’t know about Jesus however they will be held accountable for what they did in their life.

The Bible does not mention how long Booths will last but the Bible makes it clear Satan will be allowed to deceive these people for a short time and many will follow Satan.

Finally, the time will come when Satans last attempt to attack and try to take over Gods kingdom.

Revelation 20:9,10 And they went up on the breadth of the earth and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever

God will allow the world to witness Satan and his follower’s last attempt to attack the saints.

The sinners were raised from death and were taught the truth about Jesus, yet in their hearts, they chose to follow Satan.

Obviously, many saints will witness the second death of their loved ones. Understandably why God will wipe away many tears.

Question: So everyone who has ever been born will have a chance at salvation?

Answer: Yes, everyone who has ever been born will have a chance at salvation. This seems to really upset some people today because they have been indoctrinated to believe only people who know or have known Jesus for the last 2000 years gets a chance to be saved.

Question: I thought the only people who get a chance are the Jews after Tribulation. Don’t life continue with people living for 1000 years on earth?

Answer: When Jesus returns, he will pour out his wrath on this planet and it will burn as an oven and all sinners will be destroyed with a few survivors left. (meaning the few survivors are the saved ones who go to heaven)

There are many scriptures that describe what happens to the earth when Jesus returns. The prophets call this day  ‘THE DAY OF THE LORD’  here are just a few scriptures.

2 Peter: 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:  Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:  But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Isaiah 13: 9-11Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, Cruel, with fury and burning anger, To make the land a desolation; And He will exterminate its sinners from it.

Question: Who are the saints camped outside the beloved city?

Deuteronomy 16;18-20 “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.
You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.
Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

Answer: They are the people who made it to heaven when Jesus returned after the Tribulation. They went to live with Jesus in heaven for 1000 years.  When the 1000 years are over they will come back to earth and reign with Jesus and each will have their jurisdiction to help rule the people who are living in Booths.

Question: Is this what Ezekiel’s temple is all about?

Answer: Yes, and the temple will be built by the ‘BRANCH’ meaning Jesus.

This temple has everything to do with God’s salvation plan for the time of Booths, Sukkot, tents.

Question: Will there be any people alive on earth after Jesus returns?

Answer: No, all the wicked died and all saints went to heaven. Satan will be locked up in a pit and this earth will go through 1000 years of rest.

Question: What kind of bodies will the sinners have when God raises them from the dead?

Answer: The sinners will get a new body, however, the body will ONLY be flesh and blood and can die a second death.

1 Corinthians 15:40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies, but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.

After Booths is over, then will come the time for the Great White Throne judgment. If the sinners are forgiven then they will be given new bodies like the saints have.

Then comes time for the feast of Jubilee

Every 50 years was to be a year of Jubilee throughout all the land.

Leviticus 25:10 “And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you, and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

  1. I am intrigued by some of these teachings. A question I have: According to Heb 9:27 it is appointed to man once to die… So I am curious how you reconcile that with the idea that those who have already died will raise again for the thousand years, and then die a second natural death. I do know some have been raised from the dead, and then died a second natural death, but I’m curious what you think Hebrews 9:27 means? I appreciate your time.

  2. Hi Trish

Sorry, it took so long to get back to you but I had to think about how to answer your question without writing a long winded book 🙂

It is true, Hebrews 9:27 says every man is appointed to die once, however the scriptures also say some people won’t experience death and will be changed into new heavenly bodies at Jesus’ coming.

Then we have scriptures in Revelation speaking of unsaved people who have died and were judged yet they still have to be judged again only to die a second time in a lake of fire.

Many churches today teach ~ the wicked die and are sent to hell to burn and then they are pulled from hell to stand trial again and then are thrown back into a lake of fire to be tormented forever Really?

The truth is this ~ all people good or bad who have died are in their graves asleep until their resurrection some will awake at Jesus coming and the rest at the end of the 1000 years mentioned Revelation

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. (Rev. 20:5 KJV)

So the question is what is going on with the unsaved people? And why is Satan released from his prison at the same time the unsaved rise to life again?

Scripture tells us Satan is released to deceive the unsaved and he will gather a large army who God calls Gog and Magog and they will attempt to attack the saints camped outside the city, however Jesus steps in and destroys them all

And when the thousand years have expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
    (Rev. 20:7-10 KJV)

Lets cover the feast real quick

The easiest feast to understand are the Spring Feast because we already understand what they were about and how they were fulfilled

Passover ~ Jesus death hes the lamb who died for the worlds sin
    Unleavened bread
First Fruits ~ Jesus was the first to rise from the grave and ascend to heaven
Pentecost ~ The gospel sent out to the world

The fall feast is still our future and takes much study

    The Feast of Trumpets
    Day of Atonement
    Sukkot
    Eighth day
    Simchat Torah

    Three High Holy Day Feast

    Rosh Hashanah
    Yom Kippur
    Sukkot

The Great Tribulation will fulfill the feast
Rosh Hashanah~ Days of Repentance, or the Days of Awe
Trumpets are warnings of coming judgements

Yom Kippur/ Day of Atonement the holiest day of the year in Judaism
The day God decides who lives and who dies
This feast will be fulfilled on the day Jesus returns

Sukkot, known as the Festival of Tabernacles or the Festival of Booths
Main observance is building a sukkah, temporary dwellings, study scriptures, praying and begging for forgiveness

Shemini Atzeret, the “Eighth Day of Assembly,” this immediately follows Sukkot
The day marks the end of a intense journey and celebration and a transition back to God

Simchat Torah, which literally means “Rejoicing in the Torah,”

    Completion

Sukkot is the key to God’s final salvation plan and the most misunderstood feast

If you want to really understand Sukkot read

    Ezekiel Chapter 37 to 48
Ezekiel 38 ~ Gog and Magog are not Russia or any nation today.
Gog and Magog are the second resurrected people who join Satan and who are against God that are mentioned in Revelation

And when the thousand years have expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is
as the sand of the sea.(Rev. 20:7-8 KJV)

Dry bones in Ezekiel Chapter 37 are the second resurrection including all of Israel coming to life

Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: (Ezek. 37:11 KJV)

Also the temple in Ezekiel is where all the unsaved will travel to in order to make offerings for sin

Today’s churches haven’t a clue what the temple in Ezekiel is all about

    More about Sukkot

So why did Jesus go to Sukkot in secret after he told his brothers he wasn’t going?

He was acting out future events of the lost souls who will come back to life and will have a chance at salvation and on the last day Jesus will ask them the same question he asked when he went to the feast in secret

    Jesus will shout

“If anyone thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me,

Events of Sukkot are mentioned throughout the whole bible here are just a few to mention

And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
    (Isa. 2:2-4 KJV)

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
(Zech. 14:16-21 KJV)

There shall be no more then an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
    (Isa. 65:20-21 KJV)

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.
Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
    (Zech. 8:20-23 KJV)

So as you can see the answer to your question isn’t a simple answer

So no one in the second resurrection will die a natural death. They will either accept Jesus or follow Satan.

Satan will have a 1000 years chained up having plenty of time to plan his last deception and I’m sure will be powerful

Now we can understand the eighth beast mentioned in Revelation he is the beast during Sukkot

And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
    (Rev. 17:11 KJV)

The beast that was ~ Satan ruled earth until Jesus returned

The beast is not ~ Satan lost all power being locked away for 1000 years

The beast is the eighth ~ because he was released from prison to form one last demonic army

The beast is the same as the seventh but he was destroyed in the lake of fire

The unsaved~ how are they judged at the end of Sukkot?

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Rev. 20:10-15 KJV)

    I hope I answered your question 🙂

Please look over how sloppy I put things together it’s been a very busy week
